CHIGASAKI STYLE: Bontrager Flare RT Rear light.

Bontrager, a name brand in bicycling, is TREK’s brand of goods outside of their frames.  All wheels, lights, stems, etc. are under the Bontrager name.  Today’s rear light is a new Flare RT rear light, that is compatible with Garmin and ANT+ goods to allow for readings on battery life, and be controlled by your on board computer with ANT+.

 

 

It has a battery life of 1.5 hours for 200 lumens at a high setting., 3 hours/100 lumens at medium and 14.5 hours/5 lumens on low, with a night flash of 5 lumens for 30  hours and day flash 100 lumens for 12 hours.  It has a maximum 200 lumen brightness, plenty to ride at night. 

 

 

 

 

It is rechargeable with a USB cable included, and because of it’s small, square size, it is a nice, compact light vs. bulky competitors, and looks great on a bicycle.   The Bontrager Flare RT rear light sells for 7300yen +TAX.  The final day of August, summer is just about over!
