Chigasaki Style: Trek Emonda ALR 6

This is a bicycle that just won’t be on sale for long at Y’s Road Chigasaki, it’s just too good for a great price, not to sell quickly. The Trek 2018 Emonda ALR 6 is the highest quality aluminum bicycle in Trek’s portfolio.  The fact it is higher priced than the Emonda Carbon SL4 and SL5 is intriguing.  The overall look combined with the gorgeous Aeolus wheels can easily compare to carbon bicycles twice its price. This is an outstanding aluminum machine. 

It is made of 300 series Alpha Aluminum, and the ALR6 is the lightest aluminum framed bicycle Trek has ever produced.  It integrates their in-house Bontrager DuoTrap sensor which can be connected via ANT+ or bluetooth technology to all common cycle computers. The Emonda ALR6 is equipped with the aerodynamically optimised Bontrager Aeolus Comp tubeless ready wheels with 50mm deep rims.  The drive train is a complete Shimano Ultegra R8000.  It weights approximately 8.3 KG. 

 

 

The price of the bicycle is normally 297000yen+TAX, a great, high cost performance deal, with components and wheels, making the ALR 6 worth, perhaps, twice that price.  Y’s Road Chigasaki has this as a one off, size 50, on sale at an additional 20% off to a price of 237000yen+TAX.
