CHIGASAKI STYLE**Kabuto Flair vs. Kabuto Vitt

Here at Y’s Road Chigasaki, our helmet stock has increased with Kabuto Flair and Kabuto Vitt coming in.  They’re both excellent helmets, with some basic differences. 

The Kabuto Flair, on the left above in photo, is the more expensive helmet.  It is priced at 21500yen +TAX.  The Kabuto Vitt is priced at 13000yen +TAX. Both come in general sizes of S/M and L/XL.  Kabuto Flair is considerably lighter at approximately 180g. to Vitt’s approximately 250 g.  Flair has an open punched out design for lightweight, about 8% less than not just Vitt, but other helmets.  Flair is extremely light, and obviously its biggest advantage and reason why it relatively more expensive.

Vitt is a more affordable version of the highly praised Aero-R1.  The Vitt’s advantage is it comes with a visor/shield that is magnetically attachable, and has the option of a lighter ARS-3 shield in various mirror colors.  For those who wear glasses, and cannot wear sunglasses,  it fits right over, with good clearance of the eye wear, and can give shading from a harsh sun.  The Flair has a lower degree of overhang of the helmet in front, giving what the manufacturer says is 15% more visibility. 

     

Kabuto Vitt:

  

There are differences in the back adjustment system, and padding.  For the Flair, even the padding is done so that the helmet is more lightweight, which is the main focus of its allure, albeit, still a high safety standard helmet.  Vitt is a very high cost performance helmet, slightly heavier that its higher priced sibling, the Aero-R1, but has the shield, which makes it a very attractive, affordable option.
